🙀 I’ve officially had my first-ever artist copycat! It honestly feels like some kind of achievement. Someone liked my work so much that they attempted to copy it and sell it as their own.

☯️ Being a child of the 90s, I developed a healthy obsession with a certain rainbow-colored animal illustrator. *Rhymes with Pisa Drank* (She’s problematic, but that doesn’t change how much her art influenced me as a young artist.) I own some original merch that I still cherish!

With the rise of AI Slop (Artificial “Intelligence” Created images: labeled as art by the person who wrote a sentence into an algorithm), I find it refreshing to see more digital artists flocking to, or back to, traditional art.

Despite what you might’ve heard or seen, art is for everyone. There are a lot of contributing factors, but I think a big reason most people don’t pursue art is because of money. Art school is too expensive, art museums are too expensive, art supplies can be expensive, and having time to create art is its own expense.

I’m practicing neutrality this year. No judgements, only curiosity. My 2026 started with getting COVID for the first time ever.
